8/26/2013: Day 51, Monday - Plaster Completion

Day 51 - Plaster Finishes

Day 51 brings completion to the plaster application, one of the last major milestones before finishes commence.  The plaster crew arrived at 4:30am for the start of a long day in an effort to complete the remaining plaster work in a single day.  It seems there was success. All areas are now finished and the beginning of the 30 day cure time can begin. This is a necessary wait time to facilitate paint adhesion. Much debate was had over the cure time and we'll see if we end up closer to 3 weeks. Wood floor, window trim and wall base profiles have been selected and Tim will begin to procure those materials.  A minor correction was made to the rear deck framing today which will allow the deck boards to be installed by the blogger over the long weekend

The vinyl siding at the chimney has been adjusted to match the now vertical chimney, and all siding odds and ends are completed except at the electrical meter.  Shauna purchased a large majority of the lighting fixtures over the past weekend and we have all but the back door light ready for install when the electricians arrive for finish work in a few weeks.

We've turned a corner and the end is in sight.  There's even talk of, dare I say, early completion. Alot of work is up to us at this stage including the deck boards and painting.

Hi guys!

Russ installed the slider on Sunday in prep for the plasterers on Monday.

Washer backed up out of the drain pipe riser. Dad snaked it on Sunday with no great luck. Wet vac and fans dried it all up. What now?
